The input end is 10 inches wide and designed to work with a number of GOLD BUDDY sluice accessories. 085 diamond cut expanded aluminum over carpet, zinc plated steel riffles, and a classifier screen to enhance fine gold recovery. As the sluice widens the water velocity slows and the gold drops. The 40 inch long flared aluminum sluice is detachable and is designed as a natural gold trap starting 10 inches wide and flared to 17 inches wide at the end. The new GOLD BUDDY Floating Back Pack Gold Dredge with Suction Nozzle weighs as little as just 65 pounds (depending on configuration). Backpack dredges are available in 2 configurations: "with 2 inch suction nozzle" or "with 2.5 inch suction nozzle (+$100)" I have pulled up things from rivers such as sets of keys, small nuggets, even a 100 year old silver cross, fishing weights nails etc with a hand dredge.GOLD BUDDY Suction Dredges feature the new Uni-Float one piece flotation system. Work in minimal water and since its done by hand there are no regs to worry about.Īlso, they dont need a trap to hold in rocks either, If you move quickly and keep pulling on your way up you lose NOTHING. the tube style dredges only weight a few pounds. if you want to go deeper, rake them out.īest part is. I also recommend a rake and shovel as rocks larger than 3 inches will be all thats left in the bottom of the hole. In a couple hours you can clear a pretty good sized area. Granted you still have to muck rocks from the hole your digging but you would be amazed at how much and how fast you can dig a hole with one, feed it into a bucket with a classifier on top and or then into a sluice and or pan it out by hand. It sucks up the bigger rocks that you can use a classifier to toss away as to having to pick them out by hand. It sucks up more, and you can move more by hand faster. If your going to remote locations and want to move material and dig deep I would recommend a 3inch hand pump dredge.
